The hog‑roast sandwiches from Rose Cottage are absolutely outstanding. The meat is tender, full of flavour, and piled generously, and you can tell it’s all crafted with real care. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you stop mid‑bite just to appreciate how good it is. Easily one of the best things you can treat yourself to in the area.

I recently picked up a steak and stilton pie and dear me—it was absolutely outstanding. After just 15 minutes in the air fryer, paired with fresh mash and a rich gravy, it made for the perfect comfort meal on a cold winter’s day. I also grabbed a pork pie and a sausage roll, and I’m already looking forward to trying them tomorrow… if I can resist the temptation that long! 10/10—highly recommended.

Tried one of their steak pies, bought this morning. Just finished eating it, and wish I could start over again! Absolutely delicious – full of lean, well cooked meat in a really nice gravy, all topped off with proper crusty pastry. Light years ahead of the so-called pies you can buy in supermarkets, which have more E-numbers and air than actual filling. Like comparing a Ferrari to a Skoda… 🙂
